this city is a poem
Last trip to Western Mass.
E. took me to one of the places she works. It is in this old woman's house. E's job is to sift through old books all day. The woman has all sorts of marvelous ephemera in her huge, old library.

We also had a spooky movie night. We watched Suspiria by Dario Argento for the umpteenth time. No matter how many times I view this movie it never loses its chilling ambiance.
We also made a spooky drink to go with our spooky movie.

We cut apples in half and carved faces into the round side. We then put the apples in a pot of apple cider and they looked like shrunken heads. After the cider had been thoroughly warmed we mixed it with rum. Perfect for a cold and spooky evening!

imagination and reality
Spent a dreamy weekend with E. and then drove back with her to Western Mass for a visit. On Monday we went to our alma mater and while E. finished up some things for work I wandered around campus. Although the campus is mostly comprised of 'quirky' 1970s architecture there is something so charming about it all. As I walked around my heart ached for the past. I got to see some wonderful people including the ladies of Central Records (work study job #1) a past roommate, D., and my awesome bosses from Media Services (work study job #2). Unfortunately, it was Monday so all the science professors were in a meeting.

It was so nice to be back on campus.
